World wide music collaboratory - a request!

We’ve probably all had the dream of helping to build the global village. Now we can do it using relatively cheap high quality production tools. The SalsaNet Media lab, now a part of the South Central Texas Chapter of ISOC, is in the process of putting together a Public Studio to create cheap and easy prototypes of ways to make radio and television for the web. To help create the next generation of a global screen language.

Imagine that you fly to a location on Google Earth - zoom in and click on a link to an ISOC server and view videos and listen to the sounds of the place. Read literature and purchase art. Get to know each other as neighbors.

Our attempts to create a public studio to help make this happen can be found at

http://1.salsa.net/publicstudio/.

Join us to create a world wide web version. We will make it up as we go along.

To start the collaboratory we are inviting members of the Internet Society to join us in an experiment in global music collaboration. Send the URL below to members and friends. Invite the musicians at your favorite pub or local orchestras or culture groups to participate. Together we can build the structure to enable all kinds of creative collaborations and invoke the "soul" of the world wide web.

We will move our web presence to better addresses soon, but for now we will set up at the above. Eventually we could have interconnected servers all over the world facilitating cultural collaboration.

Interested? For more information call or email Pleas McNeel in San Antonio Texas (+1 210 826-4591 or contact me at <pleas@salsa.net> with 'wwwjam' as your subject.
