Exercise: Imagine that it is the year 2010, the end of the Decade for the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence for the Children of the World. It is a success! Peace is here! Review the stories and headlines you collected that demonstrate examples of the pledge being ignored or broken. Now, as a group, rewrite them for this new culture of peace. For example, a headline that reads “3 seized in drug bust” might be rewritten to read, “illegal drugs eliminated from our town.”
