The peace and Justice Resource Center needs people to help. Our goal is to have it open regular hours, perhaps a few hours a day, so that it can be a viable resource for the whole San Antonio community of peacemakers. Can you help? This is who we need:
Someone to cull through the card file of checked-out resources and call people to ask for the return of material that has been checked out for more than a month.
Volunteer librarians to commit to staffing the library on a regular basis for two hours a week, or longer, any time during the day or early evening. This would be a good project for two people who can keep each other company when traffic is slow. The library needs to be periodically straightened up, books re-shelved, etc.
Someone to conceive and set up occasional displays on a peacemaking topic. The current display, for example, is on the environment. This involves developing a theme, pulling books and videos from the shelves and arranging them on the display rack. It could also include typing a bibliography of the display materials.
Logging in new books into the computer database. This requires only modest computer skills and training will be provided.
Remember, if you buy books from Amazon.Com by following one of the links from the peaceCENTER's site, we earn a small commission that helps us maintain the Peace and Justice Resource Center. And it doesn't cost you a penny more!
