Creating the Storyline for the a cultural tourist trail by enhancing the high tech curricula of South Central Texan Schools
Knowing Home - a series of virtual county museums on the Internet coupled with a public television series will be used to introduce technology into regional school curriculla and market the cultural history and sites of each county as regional history destinations.
Elements of the project in the schools
Students will make living history films to be broadcast on regional public television. Information will be gathered by a series of digitization days. Knowing Home staff and volunteers will bring a portable computer, scanner, and video camera with frame grabber to county historical groups in South Texas and digitize documents and objects for virtual county museums. Informations contained in these museums will form the basic content for the television series..
